Compatible Meters
The energieleser.bridge receives radio signals according to the wM-Bus standard (OMS). Not every radio meter is automatically compatible: some use other, proprietary radio protocols that the Bridge cannot receive. Your meter fits if it sends its readings via wM-Bus according to the OMS standard. This is usually stated in the meter's manual or data sheet – or you can ask your utility, landlord or property management.
Supported meters and devices
| Meter / device | Supported |
|---|---|
| Radio-based electricity meters | Yes |
| Radio-based gas meters | Yes |
| Radio-based water meters | Yes |
| Radio-based heat meters | Yes |
| Wireless smoke detectors | Yes |
| energieleser.node | Yes |
With the energieleser.node and matching sensors you can also connect meters without radio — the energieleser.node sends the readings to the Bridge by radio.
Encrypted meters
Many meters send their radio signals encrypted. For the Bridge to read them, you need to know the AES key of your meter – you usually get it from your utility, landlord or property management (less often from the metering operator) or from the manufacturer. You enter the AES key in the app when you add the meter (see Adding Radio Meters). Without the key, the readings cannot be read.
The Bridge only reads meters you have made known to it. For this you need the meter number (the number printed on the meter) and — for encrypted meters — the AES key. You enter both in the app, see Adding Radio Meters.
Next Step
Once you've confirmed your meter is compatible, continue to Physical Installation.
