wärmeleser Home Assistant Integration

Native Home Assistant integration – recommended

For a true plug-and-play experience, we recommend the native Home Assistant integration — no MQTT required. The guide below only covers the manual MQTT setup.

Integrate your wärmeleser with Home Assistant for full smart home integration.

The wärmeleser can also be integrated into Home Assistant. A detailed guide can be found at link.stromleser.com/energieleserdocs. For individual support, you can contact our support team at any time.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • You have completed the Home Assistant basic setup
  • MQTT is set up in Home Assistant
  • Your wärmeleser is configured in the energieleser app

Setting up the integration

Step 1: MQTT configuration

  1. Open the energieleser app
  2. Go to Device → Integrations → Home Assistant
  3. Enable the MQTT integration
  4. Enter the MQTT details:
    • Host: Home Assistant IP address
    • Port: 1883
    • Username: mqtt-user
    • Password: Your MQTT password

Step 2: Configure Home Assistant

  1. Open Home Assistant
  2. Go to Settings → Devices & Services
  3. The integration should be detected automatically
  4. Confirm the integration

Available sensors

After integration, the following sensors are available:

  • Heat consumption – Current consumption
  • Meter reading – Current meter value
  • Temperature – Flow and return temperature (if available)
  • Consumption today – Daily consumption
  • Consumption this week – Weekly consumption

Automations

You can create automations based on your heat data:

  • Consumption alerts – Notifications for high consumption
  • Temperature monitoring – Monitor flow and return temperature
  • Consumption statistics – Automatic statistics
